Spring Create with Karen Retreat at Aldersgate!

Dates: March 30-April 2, 2023

Sounds like a long ways off, doesn't it? BUT this spot is popular, and I need 15 gals registered by Thursday - yup, this Thursday, November 17th, for them to hold my reservation! I will be capping registration at 18, so don't wait. Here are the details:

3 Day Retreat: Thur March 30th 4 pm - Sun Apr 2nd 3 pm $340 ($330 if you pay by check or venmo and save me the fee paypal charges me)

2 Day Retreat: Fri March 31st 4 pm - Sun Apr 2nd 3 pm $245 ($240 by check or venmo)

Cancellation policy: full refund if your spot is filled by someone on the wait list. Otherwise no refunds possible ater 12/1. When spots are full, I will start a wait list.

What is included:

9 wonderful meals (6 meals for 2 day registration),
lodging (probably 3 gals to a room),
a table in the meeting room, free coffee and tea bar, and complementary wifi.
Optional card or layout workshop (charge will depend on project)
Gifts, door prizes and Operation Smile Bingo (Op Smile provides cleft palate and cleft lip surgeries all around the globe and CTMH supports the operations - this is optional of course, but hey, prizes!)
Access to my dies, cricut, stamp pads, etc, as well as my inventory of products - card stock by the sheet, etc, in my store.

Scrapbook Retreat at Trout Creek!

I'm excited to get back on this blog and announce a Create with Karen Scrapbook Retreat at a new venue - Trout Creek Bible Camp out in Corbett. Here are the details:

Starts at 4 pm Thursday October 13th
Ends at 12 noon Sunday October 16th
Includes 8 meals: Thursday supper, Friday 3 meals, Saturday 3 meals, Sunday breakfast
Dormitory style bedrooms (You can let me know who you'd like to room with, and I'll put friends/family together)
Cost for retreat is $225 - this includes your lodging and meals.
Includes Gifts & Door Prizes
Operation Smile Bingo Fundraiser

I need 15 gals to pull this off, so let me know soon if you can come. I would LOVE to have you join us!

This retreat's accommodations are a bit more basic than Scappoose's, BUT to make up for it, the price is lower. I've heard the meals are delicious. And the scrapbook rooms are good sized. There is a sunroom and a living room. It wouldn't hurt to bring a lamp and an extension cord. We will need to bring our own bedding - sheets/blankets/pillow. Let me know if you need to avoid stairs, and I'll work out who sleeps on which floor.

If you are wondering about Friday evening through Sunday, I will check to see if we can do a price break for that - stay tuned.

National Scrapbook Days Crop at Karen's Friday 4/30 & Saturday 5/1

Join me for two glorious days of scrapbooking or card making at my Gresham Studio.

Hello Spring! March Retreat at Scappoose Creek Inn March 25th - 28th

It's almost retreat time, and I couldn't be more excited (well, okay, maybe if I were going to Tahiti finally, but other than that, I couldn't be more excited)! We'll be at the lovely, relaxing and delicious Scappoose Creek Inn again for a wonderful weekend, March 25th - 28th.

You can pick Thursday 1 pm - Sunday 3 pm, OR Friday 1 pm - Sunday 3 pm. There is one room left, the Governor's Suite, which has a king bed, so it could work well for two, if you know of anyone who might want to come.

Here are the buttons to pay for your retreat. This covers the lunches and dinners, use of the barn, and some goodies I'll provide. We'll also have Operation Smile Bingo, if you'd like to play a few games for this worthy cause. (My generous customers paid for 2.5 surgeries last year - isn't that fabulous? I'm aiming for 3 surgeries this year!) Many of the costs are defrayed by donations, so the average surgery costs just $240.

January ScrapClub: These Are My People

In January ScrapClub will have two choices: The first is the These Are My People Scrapbook workshop created by Chris Robertson - three super fun layouts pictured below. Contact me at kvarcoe@aol.com to get your kit!

The second is also These Are My People, but this is a Cut Above Kit (everything is precut, you just assemble!) It fits in our 6x8 EveryDay Life Album, and I love it! This album has an opening page (shown below), eight 2-pg layouts (two of them are shown below) and a closing page. A really nice size album, that can be increased with additional pocket protectors and flip flaps. You can make this album in one evening!

Blue Skies Tahitian Retreat 2.0! June Scrapbook Retreat at Scappoose Creek Inn

Things have changed in this world since I posted the (had to be cancelled) April retreat news.... But we scrapbook retreat lovers don't give up --- we're going to try again! Scappoose Creek Inn had a summer cancellation and LOTS of you are interested! The weekend is Thursday June 18th (or Friday June 19th if you can't come Thursday) through Sunday June 21.

Thursday 1 p.m. - Sunday 3 p.m. includes 9 meals (Thurs dinner - Sun lunch) Retreat fee: $125

OR

Friday 1 p.m. - Sunday 3 p.m. includes 6 meals -- (Friday dinner -Sunday lunch) Retreat fee: $95

Your retreat also includes gifts, door prizes, access to my cricut, thin dies, embossing folders, cuttlebug, stamps, stamp pads and pattern books, and all my available items for sale in my store. You can also order a 12x12 (or smaller if you wish) album from me at 25% off as a benefit of coming to the retreat.

Blue Skies: Two Days in Tahiti Scrapbooking Retreat

Here it is! Blue Skies Tahitian Retreat at my place in April - can't wait to have you over.

Dates: Friday, April 24th 9 a.m. through Saturday, April 25th 9 p.m.

Location: Tahiti! Or at least as close as we can get to it at my studio in Gresham! And, hey, absolutely no jet lag. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and you can wear your warm weather vacation clothes and flip flops!

What is Included in Your Retreat:

Lunch and dinner on Friday
Breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday

LOTS of crafting and girl time!
Use of my cricut (please bring your mat if you plan to do a lot of cutting), thin dies (I have 3 machines too), stamp sets, inks, pattern books

Cost: $85 for BOTH days or $55 for Friday only and $65 for Saturday only. Working Girl option: Friday dinner through Saturday evening for $75.

Want to stay the night? I have one small bedroom in the house with a twin bed. I also have a guest cabin off the deck with a queen bed and two twin beds (you would need to cross the deck and come into the house to use the bathroom). First come, etc...
